ELA- The Family Times packet went home today for our next story, RS 3.4.2 Hottest, Coldest, Highest, Deepest. Homework for tonight is page 2. Pages 3-4 were assigned for remote learning for tomorrow.
Lexia- To be on grade level, students should be close to completing level 14 in Lexia. The majority of the class is on par to complete the third grade concepts in the Lexia online program. Your child should be able to easily show you their progress and current placement in Lexia.
How-To Presentation- Information was sent home today with details on what to complete for tomorrow's remote learning. The multi-media component, using Adobe Spark, will be completed in class February 7th and February 8th. The prep work and expanding book project will begin on Monday. Students need to bring their completed packets back to school on Monday, January 31st.
Math- We completed Topic 10 and will begin Topic 11 on Monday. There are still a handful of children that have yet to complete their word problems. Please have your child type them into the Google Doc assigned through Canvas. Computers are free to use at the public library, if your child does not have access to a computer. Your child can also hand write their word problems then type them here at school if necessary.
Reflex Math- As a part of our remote learning day, students should be practicing their multiplication and division facts. Reflex Math is available for a gamified version of basic math fact practice. I sent home a worksheet for students to complete, if they would prefer to do a paper-pencil practice drill instead of Reflex Math.
White Ribbon Week- The class had fun hunting for clues during our White Ribbon Digital Citizenship safety week. Hopefully they told you about all of the different clues they learned this week.
Silly Sally- Silly Sally likes to battle but not fight. Silly Sally likes smoothies but not shakes. What does Silly Sally like?
Home-School Talking Points-
1. What is a kindness note?
2. What clue did your child find for our White Ribbon Week?
3. How many cursive letters have we learned so far this year?
4. How did Acadience (reading fluency) testing go?
Enjoy your weekend,
Ms. Stroud
