ELA- We will wrap up Prudy's Problem and take the OPM this Tuesday. I spoke with the class, and they would like to assess those concepts one day early so that we have enough time for the next week's lessons. With Halloween this Thursday, the parade and party will tighten our schedule that day. I was pleased with their decision. It just goes to show how they are growing academically and maturing. :-) We have wrapped up our District writing assessment on opinion writing and I am looking forward to reading the essays. I enjoy seeing the growth each child makes!
Math- Topic 5 will be concluding on Monday. We will review Tuesday and assess on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will be used for catch up and preparing for the District required math assessment. I will plan on giving that on either Monday or Tuesday of the following week. Several students have completed their assigned math skills packet and have moved to the next skill. How is your child doing on their math skills packet? Every child has been given a skill to work on.
Home-School Talking Points-
1. One student is now working on division concepts in their math skills. Can your child name him?
2. We played a logic game on the computers on Monday. It was called Breakout. What was that like? Did your child "breakout"?
3. We had a change in custodians. What was that change? (Mr. Jensen has accepted another job opportunity.)
Thank you,
Ms. Stroud
