ELA- We are wrapping up our review week 6 for Unit 1 in our Wonders curriculum. This has given us a chance to focus on our writing a little more. I am looking forward to reading your child's narrative writing responding to the question of when he/she worked hard and accomplished something difficult.
Math- We have completed the instruction on multiplication and will begin Topic 4 on Monday. The next two topics related multiplication to division. I've started discussing fact families and how addition and subtraction are related. Hopefully this will ease the transition.
Parent-Teacher Conferences- Thank you all for taking the time to meet with me and discuss your child's progress and academic goals. Our next conference period will be in February. Please reach out before then if you have concerns either academically or socially. I am here to help in any way I can.
Reflections Contest- Reflections entries are due October 18th. Please see the lime green paper that went home a couple of weeks ago or the school website for more information.
Home-School Talking Points-
1. Third grade reached our goal for having planners signed. Which class reached that goal first? What was our reward for doing so?
2. Students filled out a learning task worksheet that also gave them the chance to identify a goal. What was your child's goal? Hint: the worksheet had a rating scale of a smiley face, straight face, and frowny face.
3. We got another new student yesterday. What is her name?
Enjoy your 3-day weekend,
Ms. Stroud
