Hang in there! Two more weeks........
Monday- Memorial Day (No School)
Tuesday- Field Trip to This is the Place Heritage Park. The buses are scheduled to arrive at East Sandy around 9:00 and leave by 9:15. Please send your child with good walking/handcart pulling shoes, and sunscreen already applied. If you student ordered a lunch from the school, they will purchase that in the morning. All other students should bring a sack lunch in an otherwise empty backpack. Students may also bring a hat to wear and a water bottle. We hope to return to the school between 1:30 and 2:00. All parent volunteers will need to check in at the office before heading to the classroom. Please remember your lunch as well!
Wednesday- Program and Heritage Festival will begin at 9:00. the program will last about 45 minutes. After the conclusion of the program, we will begin our second annual Heritage Festival. Thank you so much to all of the parents that have offered their assistance and to those that donated items. We couldn't do this without your help! The Heritage Festival will run from the end of our program until about 11:30. Program dress: Boys should wear long jeans or khaki pants and either a white or plaid shirt. Girls are asked to wear a long skirt with a white or pastel top, or a dress. Girls may also wear a bonnet if they would like. Both boys and girls may wear a bandana. Please NO hard soled shoes. All students have been asked to wear athletic shoes for the program. When the kiddos dance, they need that extra traction on the hard gym floor.
Thursday- Regular school day, with a focus on completing the Utah ABC Albums. Students that finish early will begin our Prodigy Playoffs!!!
Friday- No school for students. This will be a teacher only workday to prepare report cards and the necessary reports that will be sent home on June 6th/7th.
Monday, June 5th- Field Day. Our time block will be first thing, from 8:45-10:45 in the morning. The grade level will be rotating through 8 different stations. Once again, the PTA has outdone themselves this year and will be renting a bounce house for each grade level to use while they are enjoying the outside activities. Please apply sunblock before you send your child to school.
Tuesday, June 6th- Award's Assembly in the morning and our 4th Grade Talent Show in the afternoon. I will be sending around a sign-up sheet on Tuesday to students to put their name down, if they would like to show the grade one of their talents. If your student needs something specific (something to play music, gym mats, etc.) please let me know.
Wednesday, June 7th- The last day of school! School will be dismissed at 12:10 p.m. that day. At 12:11 p.m., the circus will be contacted to collect all remaining students left on school grounds- or I might just take them home for the summer! :-) Thank you for a wonderful year. I have enjoyed being a part of the academic and social growth of each student.
Thank you,
Ms. Stroud
