Fun, fun, fun! Welcome to the last week of the 2018-2019 school year. Let the emotional roller coaster begin. From the excitement of summer to the sadness of losing an amazing group of kiddos that I have grown close to over the past two years, and the joy of seeing each child reach new milestones in their life, this week will be full of ups and downs.
Monday and Tuesday- These will be regular academic school days, with ELA and math being taught throughout the day. Tote trays will be sent home Monday to be cleaned (dishwasher is great), and returned to school on Tuesday or Wednesday. Cursive permits/licenses will be issued on Tuesday. In order for your child to receive their license, they MUST have their cursive practice book COMPLETED and turned in. We have worked on this for several months and students were asked to take them home last Friday to work on incomplete pages. Our field day will be Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. Please have your child wear appropriate outdoor clothing. Please do NOT send them in flip flops or tank tops with oversized arm holes or narrow shoulder straps. If you would like to send an extra set of clothes for your munchkin to change into that would be great.
Wednesday- I will have a substitute on Wednesday. Canyons District high schools all have their Graduation Ceremony proceedings on Wednesday. I will be leaving curriculum as well as cleaning instructions with the substitute. Please send your child with their backpack everyday this week. We will have our Award's Assembly at 9 a.m., followed by the Meet the Teacher activity where your children will be meeting the fourth grade team of teachers.
Thursday- The LAST. DAY. OF. SCHOOL!!! Let the tears flow! Lunch will not be served on Thursday. School will be let out at 12:10 p.m. Please remind your kiddos what they will be doing once school is let out for the summer. The early release is an hour earlier than on Friday afternoons and they will be hungry. Report cards will also be sent home on Thursday. After reviewing them, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. I do my best to double and triple check each student's grades, but with 26 children in our class, there is a chance (hopefully ever so small) that I enter a grade incorrectly.
Other- Thank you for all of your support and dedication this school year. Working with each child has been such a blessing in my life. Every year, I look at the bright eyes of my new class and wonder, "Will I love them as much as I loved last year's class?" Overwhelmingly, my response is "YES!" Each child has touched my heart in so many ways. I always enjoy seeing students grow. Please keep in touch. I have been invited to musical concerts, graduation exercises, and even one wedding for previous students. I enjoy hearing of the successes of previous students. I wish you and your children the best of luck in your future endeavors.
Special Request- Please send to school a self addressed stamped envelope with your child ASAP. Late notice, I know. I will have students write a letter to themselves for when they graduate. *Self Reminder- mail 26 envelopes June 1, 2028.*
Thank you for an amazing year,
Ms. Stroud
