I can't believe we are approaching the final week of school. I am so pleased with the group of students I've been blessed with this year. Your children are amazing and will always have a special place in my heart.
ELA- We will be finishing our final informational writing project next week. Along with the ABC Album, this will help me with the informative writing grades.
Baggie Books- If you child has not turned in his/her baggie book, please send that on Monday. It really helps me prepare the classroom for summer cleaning by getting everything wrapped up earlier in the week.
Math- We have been working on our Step Up to 4th grade lessons and the class is doing great! If your child has not completed THREE multiplication and division sheets, that is this weekend's homework. For those 6 students, I passed out a new sheet today. Three sheets need to be correctly completed before participating in our field trip to High Point Park on Tuesday. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Tote Trays- Green tote trays were sent home today. Please remove all stickers and labeling, as well as markings (dishwasher does a great job), then return them to school on Monday.
School Materials- Students will continue to bring home supplies and other materials we have been using throughout the year. Backpacks should be sent each day next week with your kiddo.
(Tuesday) Field Trip- We will be taking our walking field trip to High Point Park on Tuesday. This is our final grade level reward and a fun last week adventure. Please send your child with closed toe athletic shoes and a water bottle that day. I will be sending a reminder email to those that need to bring a lunch from home. If your child did not return the field trip note by Tuesday, May 10th, they will need to bring a lunch from home. Sunscreen should be applied at home, prior to coming to school. Hats may be worn if desired.
(Wednesday) Talent Show- We will have our grade level talent show on Wednesday. Sign Ups will close Tuesday afternoon. Please look for the purple information sheet that went home on Wednesday for guidelines and clarification.
(Thursday) Field Day- Field Day will be from 9-1030. Students should come prepared for outside activities. We will be cleaning the classroom and completing our memory books that day as well. School will be dismissed at 12:10 PM. Please discuss pickup procedures with your child for that day.
Silly Sally- Silly Sally likes tennis but not ping pong. Silly Sally likes following but not leading. What does Silly Sally like?
Home-School Talking Points-
1. Which 3rd grade team won the kickball tournament?
2. How did the Typing-Off go? Grade level winner will be announced on Monday.
3. Has your child earned their cursive permit yet? If not, he/she needs to complete the cursive booklet we have been working on in class.
4. Our class was the first in the grade to turn in all of our library books. What treat did Ms. Kendrick pass out as a reward?
Easter Egg- The Easter Egg for this week will be to write down everything Silly Sally likes.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Ms. Stroud
