Welcome to the last week in May and the last week of our eventful 2019-2020 school year. Online teaching has been unique, to say the least. As we approach the last few days of school, I find myself feeling robbed of an emotional good-luck, see you next year sendoff. Over the past several weeks, we have averaged 15-16 kids in our morning meets and 5-6 in the afternoon. Several students appeared in nearly every meeting! I saw 22 of our 23 students at least once in a Google Meet. I am so grateful for your support and encouragement. Seeing your children on a regular basis helped me stay connected with them. Thursday morning, several students asked if we could continue to do a Google Meet through the summer. I will be creating a Google Form survey to identify a time to do this. It seems important to many of the kiddos but will not be required. If you still have library books or my baggie books, please return them ASAP.
Here is a schedule of our last week:
Monday- NO SCHOOL- Memorial Day
Tuesday/Wednesday- Chromebook drop off- please see the school newsletter for details
Wednesday- Reverse Car Parade from 3-4 p.m.
Thursday/Friday- Final collection of student belongings and a special treat- please click here for information on pickup times
Google Meet schedule:
Monday- no meetings due to Memorial Day
Tuesday- morning and afternoon
Wednesday- morning only (I will look for you beginning at 3 in the school drop off lane)
Thursday- morning only (student bag pickup is during the afternoon)
Friday- no meeting (student bag pickup continues)
What is in your child's bag:
-Any supplies still here at school
-Brag tags
-Memory Book that can be filled out as a reminder of this year. I have also included their Weekend News writings and our Time Capsule activity from the first day of school. Please encourage your child to fill out the other side of the time capsules for the last day of school.
-A goodie bag from me with chalk, bubbles, and some treats.
"I am BUBBLING with pride to have called you my student this year and I hope your summer is CHALK full of fun! Love, Ms. Stroud"
-A spring goodie bag (from the first week in April)
-A can of soda from Brain Boosters (we tied with Mrs. Broadhead's class for the most survey responses to the Brain Booster teachers)
-Another can of soda if your child participated in the Virtual Book Club discussion
-A snack bag if your child's baggie book has been turned in to me
-Any confiscated toys that I held onto for safe keeping and that were a distraction to our class learning environment
-USB drive, if your student brought one to school
-A whole lot of love!
Thinking of our kiddos,
Ms. Stroud (and Ms. Piggle-Wiggle)
