ELA- Our focus this week will be on refining our writing skills and a review for our upcoming SAGE testing.
Math- Topic 14, discussing patterns in math, will be tested this Friday. Topic 15-18 will return us to measurement and working with angles and protractors. This year, the pacing for math was a bit off which puts us back a bit. We will begin our yearly math review concurrently with these last three topics. A new math program always brings surprises!
Science- The class will test this Thursday on rocks and minerals. Students have been reminded to take their science journals home each night to review for this standard.
SAGE testing schedule- SAGE testing will begin May 8th. We will begin with the writing portion (opinion and informative prompts) on Monday and Tuesday May 8th and 9th. If students need extra time, we will offer that on Wednesday, May 10th. ELA SAGE tests will be given on Thursday, May 11th and Monday, May 15th. Science tests will be given on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 16-17th. We will finish with the math portion of SAGE on Tuesday, May 23rd, and Thursday, May 25th. All tests are scheduled to take place from 8:45-10:45 a.m. These are not TIMED tests and any student that needs more time will be given the opportunity to complete their assessment on a make-up day.
Other- Field trip notes for This is the Place Heritage Park need to be returned NLT this Friday. Our wonderful lunch manager needs to submit the order for sack lunches Monday morning.
