ELA- We have concluded our review of Unit 2. It took a little longer than I thought so we will wait to assess on Monday/Tuesday when we return from the break. Wonders homework will resume next week.
Math- We took a break today from our regular math lessons. Instead, students focused on Dream Box. I was able to meet with each student and give them some feedback on their progress and which lessons I wanted them to focus on. We took a division fluency timed test today and overall, I am really impressed at the effort and progress in fact fluency! There are only a handful of students that are struggling with fact fluency. Please check in with your child to see what their fluency progress looks like. We check the facts in class for immediate feedback on progress.
Molly's Pilgrim- The Thanksgiving break is a great time to do research, ask questions, and complete the Molly's Pilgrim activity. Students always look forward to sharing their pilgrim and presenting to the class. The questions can be accessed through Canvas or Google Classroom. If you do not have access, they have also been printed on the yellow sheet beneath the rubric on the backside.
Home-School Talking Points-
1. We got a new student today. What is her name?
2. We have a student with a birthday on Thanksgiving. Who is that student?
3. I introduced a fun resource for science learning to the class. What is Legends of Learning?
Other- Our fundraiser was a success and the entire school earned a Classic Skate Night party! Please look for the bright yellow sheet for more information. It will be next Tuesday. Hopefully my City Council meeting ends early and I can stop by!
Enjoy your break and I'll look forward to seeing your children on Monday!
