ELA- We will continue with The Man Who Named the Clouds and have our weekly OPM this Wednesday. We are busy with our opinion writing and will continue with that form up until the break in December, with our final opinion paper due before the holiday.
Math- On Monday, we will take our Topic 5 OPM. It is on division and covers many concepts. We reviewed this on Tuesday and all students were asked to brush up on their basic fact skills in prep for this OPM. Our next topic works with multiplicative comparisons and is relatively short, followed by another short topic on prime and composite numbers, multiples, and factors.
Science- We will be wrapping up our fossil unit within the next two weeks. I will let you know when the final OPM will be given on the next weekly update. Please begin to collect 3 clear plastic bottles, 16-20 ounce, with regular screw on caps. They should all be the same type of bottle. Water bottles and soda bottles work best. We will be creating our water cycle model in class before the students rotate to Mrs. Broadhead for a unit on weather and the water cycle.
Other- Please remind your child to bring appropriate cold weather clothing to school. All students are expected to go outside for recess. Healthy bodies means healthy brains!
Thank you,
Ms. Stroud
