ELA- We are completing our Week 6 in our Wonders curriculum. This is a review, as you ma have noticed with the homework. I have elected to focus on writing this week. We are learning about narrative writing and this will culminate with the students writing a fall narrative. This is a fun writing project and I always enjoy listening to and reading about the stories students come up with.
Math- We have started Topic 4, which connects division with multiplication. I am focusing heavily on the fact family connection. Overall, the class is knocking it out of the park with math facts! Please keep encouraging your kiddo to complete their homework, use flashcards, and engage in the online programs for fact fluency (Clever).
Other- This will be a 4-day week, with school dismissing at 1:10 PM on Thursday. I am looking forward to meeting with all of you on Wednesday and Thursday evenings to discuss the progress and goals for your children. If any of you need or would prefer a Zoom conference, please let me know and I will send a Zoom link for your scheduled time. The fall book fair will be on Wednesday and Thursday as well. Grands and Goodies will be Wednesday morning from 730-805. Hope to see you there!
Home-School Talking Points-
1. What desk drumming song did we have fun with last week? What is desk drumming?
2. What are we doing in our interactive writing journals?
3. What game did we play in our grade level Morning Meeting on Friday? How was is similar to one we have played in our class already?
Looking forward to meeting with you this week,
Ms. Stroud
