ELA- We are currently working on the skills and concepts for our text set The Castle on Hester Street. We will get to the main selection next week. I'm not sure if having a year under their belt with this new curriculum is making the difference, but I sure am pleased with the depth of knowledge many of the kiddos are showing!
Math- We are about half of the way through Topic 5. We do have a district required assessment that will be given next week, but will continue pushing through multiplication after.
Halloween- Please remember to send your child in their costume on Halloween. Street clothing should be worn under their costumes. It is a school policy to not allow masks, weapons (even replicas). Face paint is acceptable and masks can be held or attached to the costume, just not worn. We will will have our amazing parent volunteers in our classroom that afternoon to run stations for a class party. Super exciting day!
Home-School Talking Points-
1. We got a new student this week. What is her name?
2. We started reading our short stories. Which story has been your child's favorite?
3. Three students were selected for our Diversity and Inclusion award. Which three students earned this?
Free Fun Sandy Event- The Annual Trunk or Treat will be tonight at the City Promenade. Hope to see you there!
Enjoy your weekend,
Ms. Stroud
