ELA- We extended our Unit 5 review week until next Tuesday. With all of the required tests, including our upcoming RISE end of level tests, I wanted to be sure to properly review the skills and concepts we have discussed over the last several weeks. On Wednesday, we will move to the next unit of study, RS 3.6.1 The Story of the Statue of Liberty.
Math- We are still pushing hard to complete the enVision math curriculum by the time we take the math RISE tests. At this pace, we should finish up by the skin of our teeth!
Beat the Clock and Division sheets- Our 4th grade level incentive is to earn enough points to have one final fun day of activities this year. Students are given 1 point each week for completing 100 correct multiplication and another point for completing 100 correct division basic facts/week. Please look for this sheet in your child's planner. This is a part of our Friday learning module.
Green Calendar- A green sheet with the May calendar was sent home with your kiddo yesterday. This caramel has many of our activities listed and can help your child visualize what the rest of the school year will look like.
RISE Testing- RISE testing begins on Monday. Monday and Tuesday will assess ELA concepts including reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, listening comprehension, and spelling. Please help your child be as prepared as they can be by getting them to bed early and providing a healthy, full breakfast. This has been a long year and nearly every single student in our class has missed a significant amount of in person learning. The good news is that this leaves plenty of room for growth next year! ;-) Please do not stress over RISE testing, that's my job! Haha.
Teacher Appreciation Week- The PTA has asked us to forward a flyer they created. I have attached it for your review. Your children have blessed me in so many ways this year. Each week with my City Council updates, I am reminded that many families have been financially impacted by COVID. Please do not feel obligated to purchase from the Amazon Wish List. Your child's laugh warms my heart more than I can ever express. <3
Silly Sally- Silly Sally likes cooking but not baking. Silly Sally likes to woof but not bark. What does Silly Sally like?
Home-School Talking Points-
1. Our Morning Meeting sharing question was "What is your favorite place?" What was your child's response?
2. What is our Prodigy Playoff?
3. Will your child participate in our 3rd grade talent show?
Thank you,
Ms. Stroud
