This is our last couple of days together before the winter break. I can't believe how fast this year is going. Brings true meaning to time just zipping by when you're having fun!
ELA- We are in the first week of the second text set for our Wonders Curriculum. Martina the Beautiful Cockroach is a fun fable and I look forward to reading the main selection when we return in January. Last week, we did read the Shared Selection, Anansi Learns a Lesson. I will be holding the next Wonders packet to send home in January.
Math- We took the Topic 8 math OPM last week. We are going to wait to begin Topic 9 until January as well. Topic 9 continues with skills and concepts related to addition and subtraction with regrouping. Monday and Tuesday will be focused on word problems and getting missing SAVVAS Easy Bridge Practice Buddies completed.
Other- There will be several things coming home on Monday and Tuesday. Please have your child pull them out of their backpacks so they can be put in a safe spot.
1. Virtual Learning/Snow Day folder- We have put together worksheets and an online checklist for students in the even we have a virtual learning day. Please place this in a safe spot for your child to work on if we shift to an online learning day.
2. A present for you- this will be in a large manila colored envelope.
3. A hand crafted ceramic project completed with our super talented Mrs. Luker art brain booster teacher.
4. An ornament that each child has written a message on in their neatest handwriting along with a ribbon or piece of yarn, their choice, that is as tall as they are. They turned out SO DARLING!
5. A small gift from me. I am including fuzzy socks for each student which your kiddo may or may not want to wear on Tuesday for our sing along.
Home-School Talking Points-
1. On Thursday, we had an ARTS assembly. Who performed and what did they play?
2. After a month of trying, we finally achieved a class reading goal. What was the goal?
3. On Friday, we learned about six white boomers. What is a boomer?
Thank you for sharing your child with me,
