ELA- When we return on January 3rd, we will continue where we left off in Wonders. The homework packet will be sent home for the daily review of skills and practice on Tuesday.
Reading Fluency State Testing- On Thursday, January 5th, students will be tested on their oral reading skills. A reading recording skeet was sent home last Thursday for students to record their nightly reading. Please encourage your child to read a portion of their daily reading out loud. This will help prepare them to read to the district testers.
Math- We concluded Topic 9 last week and will begin Topic 10 when we return. Students are encouraged to practice their math facts over the break. I also asked students to complete their current math skills packet. This will help keep them fluent with basic fact skills.
Silly Sally- Silly Sally likes wrapping presents but not opening them. Silly Sally likes ribbons but not bows. What does Silly Sally like?
Student to Parent Gifts- Your kiddo should have brought home a gift "wrapped" in a manila envelope as well as an art project wrapped in tissue paper. You may need to remind your student about this item.
Student to Teacher Gifts- Thank you all for the delicious treats, gift cards, soaps, ornaments, and sweet cards. I truly love this group of kiddos and they will always hold a special place in my heart.
Teacher to Student Gifts- Each child should have received a set of colored pencils to remind them to color the new year bright, snowman soup (just add water) for those cold fingers and noses, and cozy holiday socks to warm their toes. If you see an unfamiliar pair of socks, now you know why!
Home-School Talking Points-
1. What was your child's favorite sing along song and which grade performed it?
2. How did our holiday party go? What were the 4 stations your kiddo participated in? (Thank you AMAZING room parents that helped make Friday great!)
3. What will change with lunch in January?
Fun Free Sandy Activity- Snowman Scavenger Hunt
Wishing you all a safe and memorable holiday season,
