ELA- We are continuing to focus on the wrap up of the 4th grade curriculum. This week is dedicated to an overview of grammar, punctuation, and verb agreement. Next week will be focused on the 3 types of writing in our core, narrative, opinion, and informational/explanatory.
Math- We are driving hard with our last topic in our math books. Yea! Tomorrow we will begin using protractors. If your child has one at home that they would like to use, they may bring it to school, otherwise I will lend them one of mine.
Science- Although we have completed the instruction for this year, we will have one last wrap up session for each unit that was taught this year. For the next couple of weeks, we will review and wrap up all five standards- the water cycle; weather; rocks; minerals, and soil; fossils; and Utah environments.
SAGE- Testing will begin tomorrow for the majority of the class. This week will be ELA testing followed by writing that will occur next week. Please remind your child to get to bed at a reasonable hour and to eat a healthy brain boosting breakfast! We will begin testing around 8:45 tomorrow and Wednesday morning. We have headphones here at school for your student to use, but if they would prefer to bring their own, that would be great.
Thank you,
Alison Stroud
