ELA- We are finishing up Unit 1 this week, then moving onward and upward to Unit 2. Unit 2 begins with Penguin Chick. Please encourage you child to read each evening and ask if they have completed their baggie book. They will receive a brag tag for each baggie book they complete.
Math- The end is near with Topic 3. Yippee!!! Breaking apart small numbers is almost in the rear view mirror. We will finish Topic 3 and take the OPM on Thursday/Friday. Topic 4 moves to division and connecting the mathematical processes between multiplication and division.
Other- The Birthday Wagon will be on Tuesday, for those students with birthdays in October. Remember to work on Reflections Projects... They are due Monday, October 8, 2018.
Home-School Talking Points-
1. What was our Reading Street story My Rows and Piles of Coins about?
2. How many students have "Graduated" from addition/subtraction to multiplication/division in Reflex Math? What happens when they graduate?
3. How is keyboarding going? What is your child's best score for accuracy and speed? (Dance Mat- Level 12 has a speed test.)
Silly Sally-
Silly Sally likes running but not walking. Silly Sally likes sitting but not resting. Silly Sally likes Halloween but not October 31st. What does Silly Sally like? Remember, it's a secret. Once your child figures out the riddle, have them write down an example of what Silly Sally likes and bring it to school.
Thank you,
Ms. Stroud
