ELA- Our weekly story is Fly, Eagle, Fly! This is a folk tale and a fun story to read. We will also begin our Unit 4 Review Week on Thursday. Only 2 more units left in our Reading Street curriculum! Informative writing instruction will continue throughout the next unit, with an emphasis on adding more details that support our thesis statement.
Math- Topic 12 is gliding by nicely. The students are grasping the introduction to fractions quickly. Topic 12 will conclude on Monday, followed with a review, then assessment. Topic 13 will expand students' knowledge with fractions, giving them a deeper knowledge base on equivalent and benchmark fractions.
Other- SEP (Parent-Teacher) Conferences are this week. Each child was given their day and time and asked to write it in their planner. You should have also received a confirmation email when you selected a time that works best for you.
Home-School Talking Points-
1. How was our field trip on Wednesday? What was your child's favorite part? The IMAX theater, Dome Theater, Science on a Sphere, or just exploring the museum?
2. A nutritionist presented a lesson on eating healthy (last Thursday). What did your kiddo learn?
3. Is your student ready to present their How-To project? This will be a significant portion of their speaking and listening grade for the upcoming report cards.
Looking forward to meeting with each of you this week,
Ms. Stroud
