ELA- Our story for this week is RS 3.5.4 Jalapeno Bagels. All skills, including vocabulary, grammar, spelling, and comprehension will be assessed this Wednesday, March 30th. All concepts being taught can be found in the Family Times packet.
Math- Topic 14 has been well received by the class. The basics of metric units of capacity and mass were introduced, as well as reading an analog clock and elapsed time. We piggy will review Topic 14 on Monday, then assess on Tuesday. As we head into the final couple of math topics, we will spiral back to review concepts from previous topics. This will give me a better idea of which skills need to be retaught to ensure students are fully prepared for 4th grade.
Biography Report- Please review the lime green packet that went home with your child earlier this week. It has all of the information necessary for our Famous Person Wax Museum. As a team, we decided to give students the weekend, including today, to find a biography to read. Students without a book on Monday will be assigned a person to complete their research on. There is a Google Slide Deck on Canvas with more information about this exciting project.
Silly Sally- Silly Sally likes burritos but not tacos. Silly Sally likes colleges but not universities. What does Silly Sally like?
Field Trip- Please look for a field trip permission slip next week. Slips will need to be signed and returned to school for your child to participate in our activities.
Home-School Talking Points-
1. The grass in my water cycle sprouted. Has yours?
2. Students used a pan balance this week in math. What types of items were used?
3. Small groups created a number line, recording the measurements of the class. What types of body measurements were taken?
I hope you have the chance to enjoy the nice weather!
